Islamabad, February 27: Videos of Pakistan destroyed key military installations of Afghanistan in counterstrikes after unprovoked Afghan attacks.

Pakistan’s armed forces launched large-scale retaliatory strikes against military targets in Afghanistan after what officials described as an unprovoked artillery attack on Pakistani territory on Thursday evening, security sources said early Friday.

According to security officials, the Pakistan Army and the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) carried out coordinated air and ground operations targeting key military infrastructure of the Afghan Taliban regime. Videos circulating from the affected areas show destroyed military installations, weapon depots, corps and brigade headquarters, and other strategic infrastructure.

Security sources confirmed that effective airstrikes were conducted in Kabul, Gardez, Nangarhar, Kandahar, and Paktia. In Kabul, two brigade headquarters were completely destroyed during precision strikes. In Kandahar, a corps headquarters and a brigade headquarters were hit, along with an ammunition depot and a logistics base. A corps headquarters was also destroyed in Paktia during PAF operations.

“Important military installations of the Afghan Taliban regime, including corps and brigade headquarters, ammunition depots, and logistics bases, have been targeted and neutralized,” security sources said, adding that the response was “effective, decisive, and proportionate” to the aggression launched from across the border.

The Pakistan Army confirmed that the strikes were carried out after Afghan forces resorted to artillery fire against Pakistan on Thursday evening, prompting the activation of the Pakistan Air Force. Officials said Pakistan’s response was aimed at degrading the offensive capabilities used in the attack and preventing further cross-border aggression.

In an official update issued at 03:45 hours on Friday, the Pakistan government stated that counterstrikes against targets inside Afghanistan were continuing. According to the statement, at least 133 Afghan Taliban fighters have been confirmed killed and more than 200 wounded, with additional casualties feared in strikes on military targets in Kabul, Paktia, and Kandahar.

The government said that 27 Afghan Taliban posts have been destroyed and nine captured. The damage inflicted includes the destruction of two corps headquarters, three brigade headquarters, three battalion headquarters, two sector headquarters, two ammunition depots, one logistics base, and more than 80 tanks, artillery pieces, and armored personnel carriers.

“Pakistan’s immediate and effective response to aggression continues,” the statement said, emphasizing that the country’s armed forces are fully prepared and capable of responding to any further escalation.

Security sources reiterated that Pakistan’s actions were in self-defense and meant to deter future attacks, adding that responses were being carried out at both air and ground levels to ensure the security of Pakistan’s borders and civilian population.

Now, Dama Dum Mast Qalandar will be the target of aggression. Pakistan’s army did not come from overseas. We are your neighbors, we know your times. Allahu Akbar”, said Defence Minister Kh Asif in his X message.
