Shusha, Azerbaijan: President Ilham Aliyev said during responding questions from global media here at 4th Shusha Global Media Forum said that only Pakistan could be best mediator in US-Iran war and stated that Prime Minister Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir who President said are his personal friends played a great role to ensure peace in the region and negotiated with all parties for peace in the region. 

President Ilham Aliyev spoke about the conflict in the region and addressed neighboring countries during his speech at the opening of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.

“My message to our neighbors is to be responsible and to stop as soon as possible and try to normalize relations and not to escalate this process to a global conflict. This is a big danger, and I call for responsibility,” the head of state said in this regard.

President Ilham Aliyev also expressed his hope that mediation efforts of Azerbaijan’s friends in Pakistan again will result in cessation of confrontation.

The opening ceremony of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, themed “The Mission of the Media in Promoting Peace: Restoring Truth and Rebuilding Trust,” has commenced in Shusha.

State run news agency Azertac reported that President said:

“Probably number one under these circumstances is security and defense capability, because we see that security threats in our region are, unfortunately, not something which we read about in books, but rather circumstances we live in,” President Ilham Aliyev said during his speech at the opening ceremony of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum. So probably the best way to characterize it is to strengthen our capability to defend our national interests, and to establish more practical and working relations with as many countries as possible.”
