PNP deeply saddened by death of Petersfield Division councillor Patrick Forrester
· The GleanerThe People’s National Party (PNP) says it is deeply saddened by the death of councillor for the Petersfield Division in Westmoreland, Patrick Forrester, who was killed in a crash in the parish on Thursday afternoon.
In a statement, the PNP described Forrester as a committed community leader whose service was marked by compassion, humility, and an unyielding dedication to the people of Petersfield.
The party said he worked tirelessly to improve the lives of his constituents, championing causes in education, youth empowerment, and community development.
“Comrade Forrester’s passing is a terrible blow to the party and to the people of Petersfield. He was a humble and devoted servant, committed to uplifting his community and always putting people first. His work and his legacy will endure in the lives of those he served, and he will be sorely missed by his comrades, his community, and the wider Jamaican family,” remarked PNP President Mark Golding.
Adding to these sentiments, PNP General Secretary Dr Dayton Campbell remembered Forrester as a man of the people:

“Comrade Forrester lived among the people he served and gave of himself wholeheartedly. He was accessible, dependable, and deeply respected. His passing leaves a void not only in Westmoreland but across the movement, and we extend our love and prayers to his family and all who are grieving this great loss.”
In a more personal reflection, PNP MP-elect for Westmoreland Central, Dwayne Vaz, shared his grief:
“I am heartbroken at the passing of my friend and colleague. He was a pillar in our political and community work, always willing to go the extra mile for his people. The Petersfield Division has lost a champion, and I have lost a brother. We will honour his memory by continuing the work he dedicated his life to.”
