Margot Robbie goes braless as she continues Wuthering Heights tour
by JASON CHESTER, ASSISTANT SHOWBUSINESS EDITOR · Mail OnlineMargot Robbie's revolving carousel of designer dresses showed no sign of shutting down on Wednesday as the actress fulfilled her latest promotional commitment on behalf of her new film, Wuthering Heights.
The Australian star went braless beneath a plunging period style coat from John Galliano as she joined co-star Jacob Elordi and the film's director, Emerald Fennell, for a photocall at London's Spencer House.
Completing the look with a custom Manolo Blahnik heels, thigh-skimming black miniskirt and raunchy red stockings from the French designer, Robbie, 35, inevitably claimed the spotlight during her latest public appearance.
The actress was borrowing a look originally previewed by Danish supermodel Helena Christensen during Galliano's Ready To Wear presentation at Paris Fashion Week in 1992.
Robbie was flanked by Elordi, 28, who towered over his co-star, and Fennell as they regrouped for the latest in a series of promotional appearances for the film, a loose adaptation of Emily Brontë's classic novel.
Opting for a vibrant red pea coat and black slacks, fashion conscious Elordi wrapped an arm around Robbie's waist while posing for a series of photos.
Meanwhile Fennell, 40, whose working relationship with the Australian heartthrob continues in Wuthering Heights after they previously collaborated on 2024 hit Saltburn, looked elegant in a floor length leather trench with a distinctively cinched waist.
Robbie has been leaning into the Georgian era of the film throughout this press tour and her current outfit appeared to be another nod to the period film and the 1847 novel that served as its inspiration.
The actress plays Catherine Earnshaw to Elordi's Heathcliff in the new film, and their off-screen chemistry has almost overshadowed their on-screen romance over recent weeks.
Robbie recently claimed to relish the movie's emotional 'swings' and said her character cries almost relentlessly in every scene she's in.
Asked if she prepares differently for romantic scenes, she told PEOPLE: 'No different to all the other scenes that we do. The movie kind of demands a lot of all of us.
'My character essentially cries in every single scene, but no, it was a joy. I loved playing a character who kind of swings from one wild emotion to the other in an instant.'
The new movie is written and directed by Emerald Fennell, and the 40-year-old filmmaker stressed that 'safety and trust and love' were uppermost in her mind when she helmed the sex scenes.
Fennell - who directed Elordi in Saltburn - added: 'It's always just about making sure everyone feels super comfortable and we all are, really. We trust each other and so we try to kind of make it funny and laugh everything off.
'But love scenes are just the same as any other scene, really. And so we just approach it from an emotional point of view.'
Fennell also revealed that she relished the experience of working with Robbie on her latest theatrical release.
She said: 'Do you know what? She's an inspiration. She's an extraordinary woman.
'She's a mother, she's a producer, she's an unbelievably talented actress and she also always has time to be generous to the people around her. And so she's the best.'
While the film doesn't open until February 13, pre-sales are already strong, hinting at a $30M-$35M domestic opening weekend.
This would make Wuthering Heights the biggest box office opener of Jacob's career, and Margot's first hit since 2023's Barbie.
Wuthering Heights will go on general release from February 13.
