Tom Cruise looked unrecognizable in the first teaser clip for his upcoming comedy film Digger.

In the short video, the 63-year-old action star was seen dancing with a shovel while wearing an oversize T-shirt, basketball shorts and cowboy boots.

Only his silhouette was seen in the brief clip, but he appeared to be wearing a wig featuring much sparser and longer hair than his usual mane.

The action star was seen in a house on the water then on the dock.

Under a cloudy, pastel-colored sunset, he stood dangerously on the fence separating pier from deep, expansive ocean water as he admired the view

The award-winning actor — who was spotted riding around Los Angeles on a motorcycle earlier this week — was the only character shown in the preview of the movie premiering late next year.

Cruise previously filmed the movie in the U.K. during the six-month production.

The tagline on the movie poster refers to Digger as 'a comedy of catastrophic proportions.'

In the film, Cruise plays the leading role of Digger Rockwell but the exact plot remains under wraps.

However, Warner Bros. previously released a logline describing his character as 'the most powerful man in the world' who 'embarks on a frantic mission to prove that he is humanity's savior before the disaaster he's unleashed destroys everything.'

No further details have yet been revealed about the forthcoming film.

Cruise's castmates include Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons, Sophie Wilde, Riz Ahmed and Emma D'Arcy among others.

Digger is directed by four-time Oscar winner Alejandro González Iñárritu, who is known for his work on Birdman and The Revenant.

He is also co-producing the movie with Cruise.

Cruise's casting in Digger was announced in February 2024.

In May 2024, the award-winning director opened up about casting the action star in the comedy, which was tentatively titled Judy at the time.

'It's scary and funny and beautiful,' Iñárritu told The Hollywood Reporter

'I know comedy is not what people expect from me or Tom, and making this film was terrifying for me, but I don't like to repeat myself, and every film should scare you a little.'

The forthcoming film also marks Iñárritu's first English-language film since The Revenant. He previously co-write the script in 2023 alongside Birdman wrtiers Nicholas Giacobone and Alexander Dinelaris, along with Sabina Berman.

Digger is set to receive a theatrical release and premiere in October 2, 2026.

Most recently, Cruise appeared in hit action franchise films, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning as well as Top Gun: Maverick.

Digger is also Cruise's first film since he signed a deal to develop and produce movies with Warner Bros. Discovery.

The last time he made a movie with the studio was over a decade ago for his 2014 action sci-fi flick Edge of Tomorrow.
