Lloyds Group apps showed customers other users' payments
by HELEN KIRRANE, REPORTER, THIS IS MONEY · Mail OnlineCustomers of Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland reported being able to see other customers' transactions in their mobile banking apps this morning.
Lloyds Banking Group customers reported that they were able to view charges and payments that didn't belong to them from other users' accounts.
A Lloyds Banking Group spokesperson apologised for the issue and said the incident had been quickly resolved. An investigation is now underway.
It is not yet known exactly how many customers have been affected by the issue.
One Lloyds customer posted on X that they could see the 'current balance, all transactions, including the name, sort code, and account number' that another customer have transferred money to.
Outage tracking website Downdetector.com saw a spike in reports of issues with the Bank of Scotland and Lloyds apps between 7am and 9am.
One Halifax customer on X said: '@HalifaxBank is there a reason every time I sign on to the Halifax app it is showing me different peoples' statements.'
A smaller spike was reported on the Halifax app, according to the website.
Halifax said it was aware some customers were 'having issues with viewing transactions and balances right now'.
A Bank of Scotland customer posted on X that they could see 'a payment of over £36,000 and random names!' in their Bank of Scotland app instead of their own transactions.
While Bank of Scotland said it was 'investigating the issue, which it said may have been 'the result of a technical glitch'.
Lloyds said it was aware of the issue and asked for users to 'bear with them' while it was fixed.
