Jess Glynne criticises ITV for 'not giving Alex Scott enough airtime'
by CAROLINA PIRAS, SHOWBUSINESS REPORTER · Mail OnlineJess Glynne has criticised ITV producers after her girlfriend Alex Scott was booted off I'm A Celebrity, claiming they didn't give her enough airtime to show 'how incredible she really is'.
The former Lioness, 41, was the first contestant to leave the jungle on Friday night's episode after 14 days on the show.
After Alex's jungle exit aired, Hold My Hand singer Jess, 36, took to her Instagram stories to share a gushing tribute to her girlfriend.
But in the post, Jess made sure to make a pointed comment at ITV as she hit out at them for starving Alex of airtime.
'My woman might be out far earlier than she ever deserved, but I'm so unbelievably proud of her,' Jess penned.
'She didn't get the airtime to show how incredible she really is, and trust me, this is only the beginning.'
The Daily Mail has contacted ITV representatives for a comment.
In the same message, Jess opened up about how she was unable to greet Alex on the I'm A Celeb bridge because her mother had suffered a 'major stroke and underwent brain surgery'.
In her Story, she explained: 'I know people will wonder why I wasn't there at the end of the bridge, so I wanted to share something personal.
'Over the last few weeks my mum suffered a major stroke and needed urgent brain surgery.
'It's been really serious, life-altering time for my family and I've had to stay close to home.'
She finished: 'I can't wait to have her back by my side.'
The Football Focus presenter was instead greeted by her friend Regan Coleman who accompanied her back to the hotel where she became overwhelmed with emotion.
Speaking to host Ant and Dec, she said: 'I'm free! It feels strange and doesn't feel real. Now I'm like, "Oh, I'm out."'

Asked whether she is 'disappointed' to be the first voted-out, Alex insisted: 'Oh no! It has been an incredible experience and mentally it has been tough but I am so glad I got to do it with so many amazing campmates.
'The laughter we have had and we really connected and making the bonds that we did.'
Laughing as she was shown her contraband video as she sneaked in salt to add to the rice, Alex laughed explaining: 'I don't know how many I took in, I just put them in my sock.
'The first few days I put it on a spoon and Jack sprinkled it in the rice and so my campmates did know about it.'
Ant and Dec asked what was the worse part of her jungle experience as she dropped campmate Martin Kemp in it.
Alex explained: 'The toilet seat situation, the smell is awful and someone keeps leaving the seat up, but we can't say anything because he is a national treasure.'
Before walking across the iconic bridge, Alex revealed who she wants to win the ITV series: 'Shona to win, Ginge and Aitch are great and would love to see them in the final, but I think if Shona wins it will give her the confidence.'
