Melania's revealing whispers to Donald during inauguration ball dance
by GERMANIA RODRIGUEZ POLEO, CHIEF U.S. REPORTER · Mail OnlineDonald and Melania Trump had a tender exchange as they danced and celebrated inauguration night at the Liberty ball in Washington DC.
'Today is one we will never forget,' Melania whispered in Trump's ear as they shared a dance to The Battle Hymn of the Republic, lip reading expert Jeremy Freeman told the Mirror.
'You're right, I'll learn, I'll fight,' the 47th president replied, according to Freeman.
Melania then apparently said, 'I got you.'
'We'll see. Will you control it? Less tricky, less pushing away?' Trump answered.
Melania reportedly then said: 'It's a no.'
'I hear you,' Trump concluded.
The newly sworn-in president and his glamorous first lady went to three inaugural balls to celebrate the beginning of their second term in the White House.
Trump is only the second president in US history to serve two non-consecutive terms.
The first couple started at the military-themed Commander in Chief Ball, where they also exchanged an intimate moment.
'I shaved earlier,' Trump said to his wife of two decades. 'Can you smell my aftershave?'
'I know,' she replied.
The Trumps then headed to the nearby Liberty Ball where they danced onstage with the entire Trump family. Then, they motorcaded to Union Station for the Starlight Ball.
'We needed three because we have such support,' Trump told the crowd at the Liberty Ball at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center Monday night.
Melania debuted a leggy, white-and-black gown, which was custom-made by Hervé Pierre, the same designer who crafted her 2017 inaugural outfit.
The crowds waited for hours to see the returned commander-in-chief and he and the first lady, who were finally played on by the United States Marine Band at the Commander in Chief ball a little before 10:30 p.m.
The Trumps did their first slow dance to The Battle Hymn of the Republic, played by the United States Marine Band, before being joined onstage by Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife, Usha.
Both couples then danced with members of the military, as is the custom.
Trump had a dance with a sergeant from the Space Force, while Melania enjoyed one with an Honor Guard member, neither of whom have yet been named.
JD and Usha Vance each shared a dance with members of the military - of the Marine Coprs and Navy respectively.
'This is quite a gathering huh?' the 47th president said to the crowd that numbered in the thousands, with many servicemembers sporting their dress uniforms.
At the Liberty Ball, which was also at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, the president and first lady again danced to The Battle Hymn of the Republic.
This time, however, the whole Trump clan came onstage, including Tiffany Trump who was showing off her baby bump.
Donald Trump Jr. was spotted dancing with his kids - including daughter Chloe and Kai, who made her political debut in July by speaking at the Republican National Convention.
Trump Jr., who was also joined by new girlfriend Bettina Anderson at inauguration events this weekend, had to stand onstage at one inaugural gala with ex-fiancée and his father's pick for Greek ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle.
The Trump family slow-danced to Unchained Melody - Ivanka Trump with Jared Kushner, Lara Trump with Eric - before The Village People came out to again to perform their '70s disco hit turned MAGA classic YMCA.
The Village People also performed at the Sunday afternoon Trump victory rally - and again at Turning Point USA's Inauguration-Eve ball Sunday night.
Attendees at the Starlight Ball were also treated to a dance by the entire first family - this time to Frank Sinatra's I Did It My Way - another favorite tune of the president.
