Anthony Ricco, one of the attorneys representing Sean "Diddy" Combs in his federal trafficking case, has filed a motion to withdraw as counsel.

"Under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs," Ricco stated in the filing. Without disclosing specifics, he noted that the government had been informed of his decision and "takes no position on the motion seeking withdrawal."

Diddy, 55, remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn as he fights allegations of orchestrating and recording coerced sex acts at gatherings known as "freak offs." He has pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution.

Despite Ricco’s departure, Diddy still has five attorneys on his legal team. His trial is set for May 5, and if convicted, he faces a possible life sentence.
