Nigeria’s Beach Soccer national team, the Sand Eagles, suffered another narrow defeat to African champions Senegal after losing 4-6 in their second friendly at Murtala Muhammed Square, Kaduna, on Monday.

The result followed a similar scoreline in Saturday’s opening encounter, with the Sand Eagles falling to Senegal twice despite returning to international competitive action after a two-year absence.

The Coach Abdullahi Isa-tutored side showed greater determination in Monday’s encounter, with Hassan Abdullahi, Hamza Manga, Sodiq Umar and Hassan Abubakar getting on the scoresheet for Nigeria.

Senegal found the net through Libasse Mbaye, Mamadou Sylla, Assane Ba, Mandione Laye Diagne and goalkeeper Oussaynou Faye, while Nigeria’s Godspower Igudia turned the ball into his own net to add to Senegal’s tally.

The two-match series forms part of Nigeria’s preparations for their Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BSAFCON) qualifying tie against Ghana.
