Rivers 2027: Wike’s ally cleared for APC governorship primary + Video

An ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and Minority Leader of House of Representatives, Kingsley Chinda, has been cleared by the screening committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest the 2027 governorship election in Rivers State.

According to available reports, the Minority Leader from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) must have secretly defected to the APC.

In a video seen on Saturday, Chinda reportedly appeared before the APC governorship screening committee ahead of the primaries on Saturday in Abuja.

The Eagle Online is reporting that the incumbent, Siminalayi Funbara, was also cleared for the primaries.
