Osun 2026: Davido alleges arrest of PDP chairman
by Adeola Balogun · The Eagle OnlineThe Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Sunday Bisi, has reportedly been arrested by the police at his residence in Ilesa.
The claim was made by Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, in a post on X on Saturday, as voting commenced in the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Davido alleged that Bisi was arrested at about 2pm after police officers invaded his residence.
“Just in! Osun PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi has been arrested in his Ilesa Residence around 2pm by the Police. Police invaded his house accusing him of moving around on the day of election. The same agency that ignored APC thugs harassing voters. It is well.”

The allegation comes amid heightened political tension in Osun State as voters head to the polls to elect the next governor.
The 2026 Osun governorship election is taking place on Saturday, August 15, with incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke seeking another term.
As of the time of filing this report, there had been no official statement from the Osun State Police Command confirming Bisi’s reported arrest or explaining the circumstances surrounding the alleged detention.
