This affected the Super Eagles of Nigeria more as the Moroccans caged Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Adams Akor upfront.

Despite the presence of Alex Iwobi, the absence of Captain Wilfred Ndidi affected the team.
Ndidi was suspended for receiving one yellow card too many in the quarter-final match.
