The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a former Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Hassan Gusau, also purchased the APC’s expression of interest and nomination forms to contest the Zamfara State governorship election.
Gusau, a close associate and Special Adviser to a two-term senator, Mansur Kaura, said he had no issues with any form of primary election the APC may want to adopt.
Speaking on Gusau’s aspiration, Kaura said that his primary interest was the development of Zamfara State and addressing the concerns of the people of the state.
He said: “It is obvious to us that Zamfara has a lot of problems and we need people who can speak on our behalf, people who can address our sufferings and problems.
“So that is why we are here, and we don’t have any problem with the mode of primary election.
“It can be consensus or through direct primaries.”
