MANILA, Philippines — Several roads leading to Manila Hotel will either be closed or controlled from October 1 to 8 to give way for the filing of the Certificate of Candidacy (COC), according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

In an advisory on Monday, Comelec announced that Katigbak Parkway will be closed, while the following roads will be controlled or managed:

  • 25th Street
  • Bonifacio Drive northbound and southbound (from 25th Street to Katigbak Parkway)
  • Roxas Boulevard northbound and southbound (from Katigbak Parkway to South Road)
  • Independence Road
  • South Road
  • Other engagement areas

According to Comelec chair George Garcia, roads that will be controlled or managed are areas where enforcers or deployed police personnel will be situated to ensure public safety.

In a separate report, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said it will dispatch 1,389 personnel for the COC filing.

NCRPO said that it likewise directed district directors to assign personnel for crowd control and traffic flow and to provide assistance through help desks for candidates and the public.
