Shefali Jariwala, renowned as the “Kaanta Laga girl” and a contestant on Bigg Boss 13, tragically passed away at 42 on the night of June 27, 2025, in Mumbai. According to multiple reports, she suffered a sudden cardiac arrest late that evening. Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, along with three others, rushed her to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri, but she was declared brought in deceased. A hospital receptionist confirmed she “had expired before she was brought in,” and her body was subsequently sent for a post-mortem at Cooper Hospital.

Journalist Vickey Lalwani noted that she arrived at Bellevue around 11:25 pm, accompanied by her husband and others.Staff confirmed that doctors attempted to revive her, but she showed no signs of life when brought in . A statement from Bellevue’s RMO referred further queries to cardiologist Dr Vijay Lulla, while Cooper Hospital’s AMO said the final cause would be confirmed only after the post-mortem.

Born on December 15, 1982, Shefali soared to fame in 2002 with the remix of “Kaanta Laga,” earning her iconic status.Her career spanned cameo roles in films like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, appearances in dance shows (Nach Baliye seasons 5 and 7), and reality TV with Bigg Boss 13. She also balanced her public career with personal health battles, having long endured epileptic seizures and depression .
