Former CM inspects construction of new block at Congress Bhavan

Mysuru: Nearly four months after he demitted office as the Chief Minister, former CM Siddaramaiah visited the Indira Gandhi Congress Bhavan near Railway Station in the heart of the city  this morning  and reviewed the ongoing works on the construction of the new block that is coming up in the premises.

It may be noted here that Siddaramaiah as the Chief Minister had laid the foundation stone for the construction of the new block on Aug.9, 2025, which was attended by the then Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and other key Congress leaders.

Soon as he arrived at Congress Bhavan, Siddaramaiah was greeted warmly by hundreds of Congress workers who garlanded him.

After Siddaramaiah interacted with the gathering for some time, N.R. MLA Tanveer Sait apprised him of the progress of the works and explained about the features of the new block, which is designed to include a spacious  auditorium, a Press Gallery and other facilities.

The new block is being built on G+2 model spanning a total built-up area of 600 squares and costing about Rs.15 crore.

During his brief visit, Siddaramaiah did not speak to the waiting mediapersons and maintained an almost  silent posture throughout his stay.

Chamaraja MLA K. Harishgowda, former MLA M.K. Somashekar, City Congress President R. Murthy, District Congress President Beerihundi Basavanna, former District President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, Party Spokesperson M. Lakshmana and others were present.
