Some of the best dressed Take That fans from Sunderland in 15 stylish shots from Stadium of Light
by Simon Duke · ChronicleLiveYou know whenever Take That come to town their fans will come out in force and Tuesday night was no different, as Gary, Mark and Howard brought a packed audience to the Stadium of Light and put on a spectacular show that not even the abysmal weather earlier in the day could spoil. And, as well as the action there were also some attention-grabbing outfits for us to get photos of.
It's pretty much the law if you're a fan of Take That that you go to every one of their concerts looking the part and, while the deluge of rain that arrived late afternoon could have easily thwarted people's outfit plans, many fans still very much made the effort, even if they reluctantly had to add a poncho to their look last minute. With gates at the stadium opening at 5pm, there were queues outside long before that and once the clock struck 5 it took no time at all for huge queues to form as huge crowds of people descended, many straight off the Metro at either the Stadium of Light stop or St Peter's.
ChronicleLive were late from late afternoon to capture all the rain soaked arrivals and we've got to hand it to you Take That fans; your looks did not disappoint! A wide array of Take That t-shits and hoodies were clocked in the queues, a number of which had just been snapped up from the merch stand outside, while there were some very on brand costumes to fit the Circus theme, with clowns - somehow manging to keep their face paints from running in the rain - bowler hats and some really striking suits, including one worn by Stephen Sullivan from South Shields, a long time Take That fan who immediately caught the eye with his ensemble and told us that he was most looking forward to hearing Hold Up A Light.
Stephen's great outfit was one of many we took a photo of on Tuesday night, so it would be criminal not to honour all of those who made the effort with a round up of our best dressed Take That fans from Sunderland. If you were there or know anybody who was, see if they've made the cut by checking out our pictures below.
