Foreign Office issues warning to Brits travelling abroad as 69 destination cautions in place
by Sophie Buchan · ChronicleLiveThe Foreign Office has issued an advisory for UK travellers to be thoroughly prepared with all necessary paperwork before setting off for the airport. With a notice published on X, which has taken over from Twitter, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (@FCDOtravelGovUK) suggests this could expedite your journey.
They are emphasising to all jet-setters, whether embarking on long-haul adventures or short jaunts, the importance of carrying a photocopy of their passport's photo page. To avoid any travel hiccups, they recommend checking your passport's validity in advance via the Foreign Office's website for the latest directives.
Their post on X cautions: "Heading abroad this spring? Remember: keep a copy of your passport's photo page somewhere safe. It won't get you home, but it'll get you there faster if the real one goes missing."
