Liam Payne's funeral sees stars gather to remember One Direction singer at moving service
by Simon Duke · ChronicleLiveThe funeral of Liam Payne took place on Wednesday, as stars joined the late singer's family to pay their respects to the late singer.
Fourteen years on from finding huge fame as part of X Factor boyband One Direction who became a worldwide phenomenon, Liam died after falling from the third floor of a Buenos Aires hotel on October 16, as tributes poured in for him, from fans and celebrities across the world.
Following speculation that his funeral would be held in his hometown of Wolverhampton, Liam was remembered at a service at St Mary's Church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, as a whole of host of celebrities attended. One Direction issued a heart-wrenching statement the day after Liam's death, before each of Harry, Zayn, Niall and Louis paid their own individual tributes and all four joined mourners at the funeral.
Liam's ex, Cheryl was also there, supported by her Girls Aloud bandmates Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts, as they gathered outside along with stars like Kate Cassidy, Marvin and Rochelle Humes, radio DJs Scott Mills and Jordan North and Simon Cowell, the X Factor judge who mentored Liam and the rest of One Direction on the ITV show.
Those who attended Liam's funeral were all given an order of service, including a request for donations to be made to Great Ormond Street Hospital, after the late star spent his final weeks donating to fundraisers for sick children.
