Nottingham Forest set for meeting to seal incoming – €5m gap to be bridged
by Kaustubh Pandey · Sport WitnessNottingham Forest have been pushing for AS Roma’s Jan Ziolkowski and a move is gathering pace.
The defender joined the Italian side from Legia Warsaw last summer. Despite showing glimpses of his talent, he was never handed regular game time by Gian Piero Gasperini.
This has left him looking for a club where he can play regularly. Sport Witness covered West Ham’s interest in him and the Hammers were then mentioned as the leading candidate for his signature.
Now, it is Nottingham Forest who are pushing for a transfer and a deal could be on the cards.
Minor gap between the clubs
Sportmediaset report on the Poland international, with Roma needing €60m to stay within FFP parameters by the end of June. This makes at least two exits inevitable, with Ziolkowski a candidate to leave.
Nottingham Forest are showing ‘concrete interest’ in the talent and have come forward for him already.
They are ready to put forward €15m for his signature, with Roma wanting €20m.
While a €5m gap exists between the parties, it isn’t seen as ‘unbridgeable’ by the outlet.
That is why Roma and Nottingham Forest will soon have a meeting to iron out this difference. The Giallorossi signed the centre-back for €6m and a sale for €20m will go down as significant capital gain.
