“It’s true” – Sunderland and Hull City ‘very interested’ in player dreaming of PL move
by Naveen Ullal · Sport WitnessSunderland and Hull City are both keen on signing Royal Charleroi SC’s Yacine Titraoui this summer.
In April, we relayed news of Sunderland and Leeds United’s interest in the 22-year-old.
On Wednesday, Sport Witness covered claims from France that Hull City will go all in to sign the midfielder.
The Tigers overcame Middlesbrough in the Champions League playoff final and secured promotion to the Premier League. The Black Cats, on the other hand, have qualified for the Europa League.
Sunderland and Hull City would be looking to improve Régis Le Bris and Sergej Jakirović’s squads respectively this summer. These two clubs are likely to battle it for the Morocco international.
Encouragement for Sunderland and Hull City
Maghreb-Foot backs the two English clubs’ interest in the Algeria international.
The outlet got in touch with a source close to the Royal Charleroi SC player for an update on Sunderland and Hull City.
The unnamed source said: “It’s true that Sunderland and Hull City are very interested in Titraoui, but the player is currently focused on the World Cup, which is fast approaching.”
“I won’t hide the fact that I spoke with Titraoui, and he confided in me that his dream was to play in the Premier League last season and that he doesn’t want to play for any other team, in any other league.”
Having missed out on AFCON, Yacine Titraoui will be eager to showcase his worth at the World Cup. The Jupiler Pro League side, who will have the final say, are banking on this so that his valuation explodes.
The same source explained. “But as you know, Yacine Titraoui’s fate rests in the hands of Charleroi. They will not comment on the player’s future until after his participation in the World Cup this summer.
“Imagine if Titraoui participates in the World Cup and shines with Algeria; his market value will skyrocket! Charleroi are waiting for that to happen in order to get the best possible price for Titraoui’s transfer.”
Sunderland and Hull City have to wait
To sum it up, Sunderland and the Tigers are looking to sign Yacine Titraoui, and his side want to wait until after the World Cup to open negotiations. His suitors have no choice but to wait.
The Algerian’s contract lasts until 2027, with an option for another year, and he’s valued at €7m by Transfermarkt.
