Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham have ‘inquired’ about Manchester United man – May need to wait

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have ‘inquired about’ Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford this summer.

Sport report that they are alternative options for the 28-year-old, but he isn’t interested in a move to any of the three Premier League sides.

Barcelona off the table, for now

The newspaper covers Marcus Rashford’s future today with his loan at Barcelona coming to an end.

He joined the Spanish side on loan from Manchester United last summer. He established himself as a regular under Hansi Flick and there were indications that a permanent deal would be sought.

The loan included an option for Barcelona to buy him for €30m, but they have turned away from that option after signing Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.

At this moment in time, they are focused on signing a new striker. And, as a result, the prospects of Rashford return to the Camp Nou are currently slim. He’s no longer a top priority for the club.

Manchester United open to negotiating

Manchester United, for their part, are now open to negotiating having previously refused to do so. His agents have also tried unsuccessfully to secure another loan deal.

While Barcelona haven’t completely ruled out a move, but they won’t do anything until later in the transfer window now. In the meantime, other options have been presented to the forward.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle United have inquired about him already. But the problem is that Rashford isn’t interested. He’s give his full priority to returning to Barcelona and was even going to accept a contract reduction to do so.

He appears to have turned his back on the Premier League for the time being. After spells at Manchester United and Aston Villa, he seems determined to remain in Spain after the World Cup.

That’s left Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle cast aside as he focuses on Barcelona and not returning to Manchester United.
