Tottenham player ‘the favorite’ for Paratici as he tries to use Spurs links for transfer

Tottenham’s Radu Dragusin was linked with an exit from the club in January. A deal never went through but he can return to Italy in the summer.

Things didn’t improve for the centre-back in 2026. He started six games due to a defensive crisis but when things returned to normal, he was restored to his spot on the bench.

This came right after a serious knee injury had derailed his progress in London.

Despite that, AS Roma were keen on signing the Romanian in January. Sport Witness covered this extensively as initial approaches were made. His agent had clarified his client prefered to join the Giallorossi over Fiorentina, who were also in the race for his signature.

Roma’s interest has now faded but La Viola are very much in the hunt for him.

Paratici driving transfer

Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport reports the paths of Dragusin and Fiorentina are ‘crossing again’.

This is mainly because of Fabio Paratici, who was keen on signing him in January. The Italian is said to have done the groundwork to secure a summer deal and he is now seen as a key target again.

The Romania international is ‘the favourite’ of the sporting director. He was key to bringing him to Tottenham from Genoa during his time in London.

The newspaper clarify that Paratici still has a good working relationship with Spurs. Even if Tottenham’s demands aren’t clear, it is certain that Fiorentina will be in the picture to sign Dragusin.

Paratici is currently in the United States to watch the World Cup. Once he returns to Italy, he can start holding discussions over a deal.

Tottenham likely to want €25m

Dragusin’s time is probably up at Tottenham. They have signed Marcos Senesi and are pushing for Jan Paul Van Hecke. Cristian Romero, Kevin Danso and Micky Van De Ven are still very at the club.

This will rule out any game time for Dragusin next season. He is still 24 and wouldn’t want to ruin his best years by being on the bench.

During the winter market, the player’s agent said Tottenham want €25m, and that’s likely to be the case again.
