The wait for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2 won't be a long one. With filming on the HBO TV Original's next chapter already underway ahead of its 2027 debut, the countdown is on to release.

While we wait for the Game of Thrones prequel's second installment, there's lots to read about it. In this guide, you'll find the latest and biggest news on A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' (AKotSK) second season, including its confirmed cast, story details, and whether more seasons will follow. So, grab your sword and armor, saddle up, and let's find out all there is to know together.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2 release date: what we know

Don't worry, Dunk, it won't be a long wait for your show's next season to come out (Image credit: HBO Max)

AKotSK season 2 doesn't have a confirmed launch date yet. However, it was among many HBO shows renewed for another season last November. At the time, HBO also confirmed it'll premiere in 2027, so we aren't in for a long wait for the high fantasy series' return.

The cameras are already rolling on its next chapter, too. Speaking to The A.V. Club, showrunner Ira Parker revealed "we're already cutting scenes together", which bodes well for next year's launch.

If – and it's a big if – principal photography and post-production stage of the HBO Max program's second season are completed well before the end of 2026, I wouldn't rule out January or February 2027. Fingers crossed that'll be the case.

Is there a trailer for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2?

No, and I'd wager that there won't be one until late 2026 at the very earliest. Once one is released, I'll add it to this section of the guide.
