Budget Session to begin from January 31, Union Budget on February 1: Check full schedule
The first part of the Budget session will have nine sittings, with PM Modi responding to the Motion of Thanks and Sitharaman replying to the budget discussion.
by Edited By: Abhirupa Kundu · India TVThe Parliament Budget Session is scheduled to be held from January 31 to April 4, with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman set to table her eighth straight budget on February 1. The first part of the Budget 2025 will be held between January 31 to February 13, while the second part will commence on March 10 and conclude on April 4.
In line with the convention, the session will start with President Droupadi Murmu's address to a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on January 31, followed by the tabling of the economic survey.
The first part of the Budget Session will have nine sittings when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will respond to the Motion of Thanks on the President's address and Sitharaman will reply to the discussion on the budget.
Parliament will then break for recess to examine the budget proposals and meet again from March 10 to discuss the demands for grants of various ministries and complete the budgetary process. The entire budget session will have 27 sittings.
FM Nirmala Sitharaman wraps up month-long stakeholder consultations for Budget
Earlier Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman concluded month-long consultations with various stakeholders, including representatives of the industry and social sectors, as part of the budget preparation exercise.
"In the course of the in-person consultations, more than 100 invitees across 9 stakeholder groups, including experts and representatives from farmer associations & agriculture economists; trade unions; education & health sector; MSME; trade & services; industry; economists; financial sector & capital markets; as well as, infrastructure, energy and urban sector, participated in the meetings," the Finance Ministry said in a statement.
In the course of the consultations, Sitharaman expressed gratitude to the participants for sharing valuable suggestions and assured experts and representatives that their suggestions would be carefully examined and considered while preparing the Union Budget 2025-26, it said.
