I'm A Celebrity legend Kim Woodburn gives verdict on Maura Higgins entering jungle
by Michelle Townsend · RSVP LiveI’m A Celebrity legend Kim Woodburn has delivered her verdict on how Maura Higgins will fare in the jungle.
The Love Island icon is set to be a late arrival in this year’s camp alongside Reverend Richard Coles.
She is expected to join confirmed contestants such as Danny Jones, Coleen Rooney and Oti Mabuse a couple of days into the series, which starts on Sunday night.

Kim, who took part in 2009, doesn’t know Maura personally but hopes that she will rise to the occasion.
She told RSVP Live: “I don’t know Maura. She’s very beautiful, credit where it’s due. I know nothing wrong about her at all.
“She’s taking her looks and making as much money as she can – and why not? She’s very glamorous and has a lovely figure. I don’t know whether she will be tough enough to do those trials, just because she’s so delicate and lovely.
“It’s not going to be a breeze, between ants in your pants and spiders in your bed. But she’s a lovely girl. I would say to her do what you can – but you’re taking on an awful lot. Who knows, she might be as tough as boots. Good luck to her.”
Reflecting on her time in the jungle, Kim has no regrets about taking part and reveals the paycheck from ITV is what motivated her to sign up.

“Truthfully, it’s very tough. It’s dirty and you can’t wash properly,” she said.
“But I don’t complain. They asked me to do it, I went in because they paid me, which nobody else will admit.
“It’s a great experience. Parts of it are horrible, but when they pay you a lump sum to fly to Australia, to see a jungle, why not?
“It’s very genuine. You don’t get much food, you are hungry and there are creepy crawlies everywhere. I did three trials and got each and every star. I was terrified, things were getting up my knickers, but I went in there to do a job and give it my best.”
Living outdoors in the jungle for up to three weeks is no easy feat. Kim’s advice to this year’s campmates would be to be fully prepared for a life with no luxury – and if you can’t handle the heat, don’t sign up.
“Go in there knowing you’ll be deprived of everything and you will miss your home comforts,” she said.
“It’s tough. I did it, a lot of people do it but a lot of people can’t. Although I went in for the money, I wouldn’t have done it if I wasn’t going to give it a good go.
“I was wetting my drawers at times, but I gave it my all. If you know you absolutely can’t or won’t do it, then don’t do it and don’t take the money. “
