Noel and Liam Gallagher have finally reunited on stage for the first time in 16 years, and it was an emotional concert.

Fans were seen crying during some of their more heartfelt songs, and it seemed like the brothers also got a little emotional too.

Many people in attendance shed a tear when the band performed their hit Live Forever, which they dedicated to the late Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota.

This move was widely praised by fans, as both Liam and Noel are Manchester City supporters, who are one of Liverpool's top rivals in football.

As Oasis sang the heartfelt song, a photograph of Jota was shown on the stadium's big screens. Red flares also filled the stadium, the same colour that Liverpool FC wear while playing.

Earlier on, Oasis' support act Cast also paid tribute to the Portuguese footballer, who sadly passed away alongside his brother Andre Silva in a car crash in Spain.

The car Jota and his brother were travelling in left the road and caught fire around 12.30am local time on Thursday after a suspected burst tyre while overtaking, according to the Civil Guard in Zamora.

Jota had just married his long-term partner Rute Cardoso 11 days before the fatal crash. The couple have three children.

To close out the show, Oasis performed one of their biggest songs, Champagne Supernova. Becoming a little emotional, Liam thanked fans for supporting them through the good times and bad. "Thanks for putting up with us over the years. We're hard work. We get it," Liam said, per The Mirror.

Earlier on in the show, while Noel performed Half The World Away, he also seemed to get a little emotional, and he even stopped singing a few bars at one stage to look out into the crowd of adoring fans.
