Nick Knowles has been forced to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing's movie special this week.

The DIY SOS presenter, 62, will not be dancing live on Saturday evening after injuring his knee during rehearsals this week.

This is the second injury to impact Nick during his time on the show, after hurting his arm and shoulder while changing a car tyre last week.

It's not all bad news for the TV favourite and his professional partner Luba Mushtuk, however, as the couple will get a bye to next week's show.

Confirming the news, a spokesperson for Strictly said: "Unfortunately, Nick Knowles sustained an injury during rehearsals and as a result, will not dance this weekend.

"As per the rules of the competition, Nick and Luba will receive a bye through to next week when he is hopefully able to dance again. Everyone at Strictly Come Dancing wishes Nick a speedy recovery."

Breaking his silence after the news was announced, Nick wrote on X: "I’m absolutely gutted and feeling very very sad," alongside a sad face emoji.

The presenter and Luba were due to dance the Charleston to Rain on the Roof from Paddington 2 on the BBC series' themed movie week on Saturday.

This is a fresh blow for Nick, who had just recovered from hurting his arm and shoulder the day after Strictly's first live show late last month.

Medical professionals put Nick's arm in a sling and assessed him carefully, eventually allowing him to perform last Saturday night.

He and Luba danced and American Smooth to Blur's Parklife, earning a respectable 22 points from judges Shirley Ballas, Anton du Beke, Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood.

Last week, Olympian Tom Dean was the first celebrity to be eliminated from the competition. He and pro partner Nadiya Bychkova lost the first dance-off of the series to '80s singer Toyah Wilcox and pro Neil Jones.

Strictly continues this weekend on BBC One.
