Dancing on Ice's Anton Ferdinand faced with huge blow hours before live show

Dancing on Ice glides into its seventh week, with the competition heating up ahead of tonight's live show (Sunday, 23 February).

The remaining contenders will be looking to dazzle the judges and audiences alike with musical-themed performances, as they vie for a spot in next week's eagerly awaited semi-final.

After last week's farewell to another hopeful, the line-up still skating for glory includes Anton Ferdinand, Dan Edgar, Mollie Pearce, Sam Aston, and Michaela Strachan.

Anton, 40, alongside his ice partner Annette Dytrt, is set to skate to the emotive number Bring Him Home from Les Miserables. Yet, recent stats suggest their journey might be cut short before reaching the semi-finals.

According to leading bookmakers Ladbrokes, the ex-footballer is poised to leave the competition this week. He's currently the front-runner to go home, with odds standing at 2/5, reports the Mirror.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes commented: "The footballer finally looks set to be given the boot, if the latest odds are anything to go by... having done incredible to make it this far, it looks as though Anton Ferdinand will be sent packing tonight."

Trailing somewhat behind is The Traitors' personality Mollie Pearce, with odds at 3/1, and Coronation Street's Sam Aston at 5/1. The Only Way Is Essex's Dan Edgar seems less likely to bow out next with odds of 16/1, whilst TV presenter Michaela Strachan is deemed the one least likely to leave, enjoying favorable odds of 25/1.

Bookmakers have revealed that Anton's chances of emerging as the Dancing on Ice 2025 champion appear slim, with his odds currently standing at 50/1. In stark contrast, Michaela, who is presently the favourite to win, has odds of 6/4.

Despite impressing audiences with their performances on the ice, Anton and Annette found themselves in the dreaded skate-off following last week's show. The duo had performed a routine to Dead or Alive's You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) for 80's Week, earning them a score of 38.5.

In the skate-off, Anton went up against actress Charlie Brooks, with the former EastEnders star ultimately being sent home. Judges Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse and Jane Torvill opted to save Anton and Annette in the skate-off, meaning that the fourth judge, Christopher Dean, did not need to cast a vote.

Dancing on Ice airs on Sundays on ITV1 at 6.30pm
