Politicians Are Absolutely Spiraling On Social Media After NPR Claimed That The DOJ Withheld Trump From Some Epstein Documents

Recently, an NPR investigation claimed that over 50 pages of FBI interviews were excluded from the Department of Justice's public release of files related to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Within them, NPR says, are allegations that Donald Trump sexually abused a minor.
After news of NPR's reporting spread online, congresspeople, senators, and lawmakers responded en masse on X.
Here's what they're saying:
Following NPR's reporting, the House Oversight Committee's ranking member Robert Garcia released the following statement on X:
"For the last few weeks, Oversight Democrats have been investigating the FBI's handling of allegations from 2019 of sexual assault on a minor made against President Donald Trump by a survivor.
Oversight Democrats can confirm that the DOJ appears to have illegally withheld FBI interviews with this survivor.
Covering up direct evidence of a potential assault by the President of the United States is the most sreious possible crime in this White House cover up."
When asking the White House for comment about the allegations, spokesperson Abigail Jackson told NPR:
"Just as President Trump has said, he's been totally exonerated on anything relating to Epstein," she said. "And by releasing thousands of pages of documents, cooperating with the House Oversight Committee's subpoena request, signing the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and calling for more investigations into Epstein's Democrat friends, President Trump has done more for Epstein's victims than anyone before him. Meanwhile, Democrats like Hakeem Jeffries and Stacey Plaskett have yet to explain why they were soliciting money and meetings from Epstein after he was a convicted sex offender."
Further, the DOJ previously released a letter claiming the documents host "untrue and sensationalist claims against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election."
"To be clear," the letter continues, "the claims are unfounded and false, and if they have a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already."
