At first glance, Hacks star Meg Stalter's red carpet look is simple and understated — white T-shirt, blue jeans, and a pair of sunnies. But take a closer look at the message taped to the black bag she's carrying...

That's right: A large label affixed to the bag had the words "CEASE FIRE!" written across it, referencing the ongoing genocide being committed by Israel toward the Palestinian people living in Gaza.

In an interview with Variety, Meg explained why she made the statement-based fashion choice. "It's the most important to stick up for people and for peace," she said. "We have to use our platforms... What's the point of being at these big events if you're not going to use your privilege?"

Meg wasn't the only star who spoke out in support of Palestine on the red carpet. Javier Bardem — who's nominated for Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his performance as José Menendez in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story — also donned a keffiyeh on the red carpet, which is a traditional headdress worn by men in Middle Eastern regions such as Palestine.

"Here I am today denouncing the genocide in Gaza," he said to Variety on the red carpet, before exclaiming, "Free Palestine!"

He also told the publication that he "won't work" with any company "who justifies or supports the genocide," adding, "That's as simple as that. We shouldn't be able to do that, in this industry or any industry."
