Director Rob Reiner And His Wife Have Been Found Dead In An Apparent Homicide At Their LA Home

On Sunday, Dec. 14, the Los Angeles Fire Department was purportedly called to a home in Brentwood to provide medical aid. A couple — later confirmed to be Rob and Michele — were found dead upon arrival.
A spokesperson for the family has since shared in a media statement, “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”
Authorities are currently investigating the incident as an apparent homicide. NBC News and Sky News have reported that the couple suffered injuries consistent with a knife attack, though no official cause of death has yet been revealed.
Rob was a legendary Hollywood director, producer, and actor, known for a range of beloved projects. His works include his 1984 directorial debut, This Is Spinal Tap, The Princess Bride (1987), When Harry Met Sally... (1989), and A Few Good Men (1992), among many others.
Rob was also known for his political activism, while Michele was an esteemed photographer and producer. The pair met when Rob was directing When Harry Met Sally…, and they tied the knot in 1989.
The couple welcomed three children over the years: Jake, Nick and Romy.
According to the Los Angeles Times, a family member has since been interviewed in connection with Rob and Michele’s deaths.
