Apple Finally Made A Foldable iPhone And The Internet Has Gone From “Oh, Cool” To “We’re Cooked”
by Becca Monaghan · BuzzFeedAfter years of rumours, Apple has finally unveiled the iPhone Duo, the company’s first foldable iPhone. And, unsurprisingly, people have a lot to say.
But before we get into it, let's take a closer look at the tech.
The iPhone Duo is designed to work as a regular phone when folded, with a much larger screen revealed when you open it out. Apple says the unfolded display is its biggest iPhone screen yet, and it can be used in either orientation, while also giving you more room to run apps alongside one another.
Apple has also split the battery between the two halves of the device. According to the company, that adds up to as much as 31 hours of video playback on the larger internal screen, rising to 44 hours when using the outside display. For a mixture of both, Apple estimates around 24 hours.
The phone is built around Apple's A20 Pro processor and C2 modem, while the camera system sits on the rear exterior. It has two 48MP cameras – a main lens and an ultra-wide – with the main camera also offering 2x optical zoom.
The reaction online has inevitably been mixed, with some impressed by Apple’s take on the foldable phone, while others are already questioning whether our attention spans really needed another frazzle.

The iPhone Duo starts at £1,999 for 256GB of storage and comes in two colours. Pre-orders open on 16 October, with the foldable set to go on sale from 23 October.
