Here's Everything That Happened During Connor Storrie's "SNL" Monologue
by Larry Fitzmaurice · BuzzFeedPosted 6 hours ago
Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie made his SNL debut last night — and he did so with a cameo-packed monologue that was one for the record books.
Connor kicked things off with a reference to the show that propelled him to the level of fame he's currently enjoying: "Some of you may have seen literally all of me on my show Heated Rivalry," he quipped, before going in for the comic kill. "It's a show that has taught a lot of people about hockey, and it's taught a lot of straight women that their sexuality is actually 'gay guy.'"
Then, he did a full-profile take at the camera to flex his acting chops while still bringing the laughs: "This was my destiny," he intoned. "When I was little, I said to my mother, 'Why do I have to have the last name Storrie? The whole world is gonna know me as just Connor. Like I'm Madonna. Or Cher. Or Paddington. Mother, I'm not a story. I'm a whole damn book!'"
After that, the cameos started rolling in, as Connor brought out Jack and Quinn Hughes from the US men's Olympic hockey team. "I got my teeth knocked out in the finals," Jack said. "Does that happen in your show Heated Rivalry?" "Metaphorically," Connor quipped.
As if that wasn't enough, Connor then brought out US women's hockey players Hilary Knight and Megan Keller to have some fun at the mens' expense. "My show speaks to people who are not always represented in hockey, so this is really great to have actual hockey legends here tonight," Connor said. Jack replied, "Thanks. The last time the men did that was 46 years ago."
Hilary even managed to get in a reference to Trump's "distasteful" joke about having to invite the women's hockey team to the White House after he invited the men's team: “It was gonna be just us, but we thought we’d invite the guys, too," she cracked. Nice one.
