As you may have seen, Travis Kelce’s latest profile for Vogue was published on Tuesday, in association with his new Tommy Hilfiger campaign.

It marked his first major interview since he got married to Taylor Swift back in July — three years after they started dating.

And while Travis didn’t get into their nuptials or married life during his conversation with Vogue, he did offer some thoughts on Taylor’s fashion sense while reflecting on his own personal style.

Unfortunately, though, his quotes are now going viral because people aren’t entirely convinced that the incredibly polished comments came from Travis himself, aka the man whose resurfaced tweet about giving a “squirle” a “peice” of bread is one of the most well-known parts of his public profile.

I just gave a squirle a peice of bread and it straight smashed all of it!!!! I had no idea they ate bread like that!! Haha #crazy

So, needless to say, when Travis suddenly started sounding like a seasoned fashion publicist while discussing his wife’s style, people couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.

First of all, Travis discussed his own unique fashion sense, telling Vogue: “My style interest started when I was a kid, through my love for sports. The basketball shoes, the Ken Griffey Jr.’s, even Wayne Gretzky’s style in the late ’90s, when he teamed up with Nike. There are so many athletes I could name. Deion Sanders is another. He had so much swagger in how he dressed and presented himself. I think that’s where the interest started, and I’m a bit of a chameleon, you know? I kind of take bits and pieces from everybody and everything that I see, and just kind of change things around depending on which situation I’m in and what event I’m going to.”

So far, so Travis. But then he is said to have shared his observations about Taylor, saying: “I love that Tay’s always authentically herself with every look. Whether we’re hanging with some friends or just us two on a fun night out for dinner, she’s always effortless, elegant, and beautiful. She’s not afraid of unique patterns or bold colors, and she’s just timeless and classy in everything she steps out in.”

Personally, I can’t imagine anyone organically using the word “timeless” when asked about their wife’s sense of style, and it seems I’m not the only one taken aback by this part of the interview.

In fact, these quotes arguably stood out like a sore thumb, and it wasn’t long before screenshots were circulating on X as social media users shared their thoughts. One popular tweet simply reads: “this reads like a rehearsed answer.”

Somebody else quote-tweeted this and noted: “chatgpt if it was prompted to give a generic description of the median woman’s sense of style.” Another asked: “Like who in real life says ‘she’s not afraid of patterns or bold colors’ that’s a magazine line.”

One more joked: “they can't even get PR that can write copy in his voice!?” And somebody else said: “This sounds like something AI would compile!” while another countered: “this sounds like it was written as a press release lmao.”

Another tweet jokingly concludes: “must have been exhausting to read these words in this sequence off the teleprompter, i hope he gets some well-deserved rest.”
