Vance in Switzerland for Iran peace talks with Hormuz in spotlight – POLITICO
by Chris Lunday · POLITICOU.S. Vice President JD Vance was in Switzerland on Sunday for high-stakes peace talks with Iran, saying before takeoff that Washington had “a couple days of talks” to try to launch the next phase of President Donald Trump’s fragile ceasefire agreement.
Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance landed at Emmen Air Base outside Lucerne shortly before 6 a.m. local time, according to his office.
He joined U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, at the Bürgenstock resort, where U.S. and Iranian officials are trying to turn last week’s interim agreement into a durable end to nearly four months of war.
