Tusk warns of ‘accidental’ Russian strikes against Ukraine’s allies in fall and winter – POLITICO

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned Thursday that Russia could launch drone or missile strikes in the coming months against countries supporting Ukraine and play them off as accidents.

Speaking in the country’s parliament, Tusk said intelligence assessments from NATO, Ukraine and Poland indicated that “the most likely scenario for the next few months” is that Russia will step up attacks against Ukraine and its allies, including Poland.

Tusk said Russia’s aim was to “weaken NATO’s integrity” and convince its members that “Article 5 is more theoretical than practical.”
