Smith, opened up about the alleged affair on his podcast, The Stephen A. Smith Show. He urged people not to act like that, as if Mike doesn’t deserve to be the head coach of the New England Patriots. Sharing his support, Stephen said:

"If you know anything about football, you know the man can coach and that the man did his job. Let’s not act like this is a man who doesn’t deserve to be the head coach of the New England Patriots. And regardless of what we may feel, what some out there may feel about the allegations associated with him, he broke no laws. He committed no crimes. He just made decisions, allegedly, that others would refrain from. That doesn’t mean he should lose his job."
