Shah Rukh Khan Expresses Gratitude With Injured Hand Post Receiving National Film Award For 'Jawan'

Shah Rukh Khan received the greatest honour by winning the National Film Award for Best Actor for his 'Jawan'. He made a heartfelt video with an injured hand. Here's what he said.

Shah Rukh Khan a.k.a SRK is one of the finest actors in the Bollywood film industry. Fans still go crazy when they notice their favourite star, King Khan, spreading his hands just like his iconic DDLJ pose. Currently, SRK is making headlines for his achievement in the prestigious 71st National Film Awards. Notably, SRK received the Best Actor award for his film, Jawan, after 33 years of his entire Hindi cinema career. Taking to his Instagram handle, the Dunki star made a heartfelt video thanking everyone for their love and support with his injured hand.

Shah Rukh Khan made a special video and posted it on his Instagram handle a while ago. He extended his gratitude and thanked his directors, writers and the jury for this honour. He especially mentioned filmmaker, Atlee, who directed Jawan and thanked him and his team for giving him the opportunity in Jawan. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer helped the star to bag the prestigious National Film Award for the first time in 33 years of his career. He also mentioned the I&B ministry and shared that he will forever cherish this special moment. In his words:

"Needless to say I am all well with gratitude, pride, and humility, to be honoured with the National Award as a moment that I will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you so much to the jury, the chairman, and to the I&B ministry and to everyone, who thought I was worthy of this honour. I want to thank all my directors, writers specially for the year 2023. So thank you Raju sir, thank you Sid and specially thanks to Atlee sir and his team for giving me the opportunity in Jawan and trusting me to deliver and be worthy of this award."

In the same video, SRK took a moment to thank his wife, Gauri Khan and his children, Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan and AbRam Khan, for their love and support. He shared that, despite knowing his obsession with cinema, which often takes him away from them, they bear it with a smile and allow him to focus on his work. He also mentioned how he had been treated like a kid in the house for the last few years. In his words:

"My wife and kids, who over the last few years gave me so much love and care as if I am the kid in the house and want only the best for me. They know my obsession with cinema. It takes me away from them, but they all bare with a smile and allow me the time. So thank you very much for that."

Shah Rukh Khan dedicates his National Film Award to his fans

As SRK ended his video, he dedicated his National Award to his fans. He also expressed that this award is just about an achievement, but a reminder that acting is a responsibility. He also mentioned how such honour makes him more responsible for portraying the truth on-screen. He was quoted as saying:

"A National award is not just about achievement, it’s a reminder that what I do matters. Yeh award mere liye ek reminder hai, ki acting sirf kam nahi, ek zimmedari hai. Screen par saach dikhane ki zimmedari. Aur sabka pyaar ka mein bohot bohot avaari hoon. Lastly, to my fans, thank you for the cheers, all the tears… this award is for you."
