The remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari have arrived at his residence in Daura, his home town in Katsina State, for his final burial.

Naija News reported that Buhari’s corpse arrived at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport, Katsina, alongside the Vice President, Kashim Shetima, President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila and some family, including Aisha, his wife.

President Tinubu received Buhari’s body, accompanied by service chiefs and other top politicians.

A brief ceremony was conducted at the airport by the Nigerian military.

Hundreds of Nigerians had gathered since dawn to pay their last respects to the former president of Nigeria.

In other news, the General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has disclosed that late President Muhammadu Buhari had no hand in the controversial raid on the residence of Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

He disclosed this during an interview on Television Continental’s programme, Beyond The Headlines.

Bakare stated that he was angry when he heard about the invasion, but Buhari sent for him and disclosed that he was not responsible for the attack.

“I was really livid, and I remember saying, ‘You will never see me again while ministering.’ And then he sent for me and said, ‘Do you know I knew nothing about it?’ I said, ‘I wouldn’t know. It’s under your watch,” Bakare recounted.

The former presidential aspirant explained that Buhari told him some security agencies often acted independently and later claimed they were following orders.

There are so many things that security people would do, initiatives they would take, that they would now say they were acting on instruction,” he quoted Buhari as saying.
