Since his sudden demise, football enthusiasts across the world have been pouring in their tributes. Mohamed Salah finally made his reaction earlier today, stressing how lost for words he is over the development.
Salah said he can’t imagine resuming pre-season training at Liverpool without the presence of the 28-year-old Portuguese forward.
“I am truly lost for words”, Salah shared on 𝕏. “Until yesterday, I never thought there would be something that would frighten me from going back to Liverpool after the break. Teammates come and go, but not like this. It’s going to be extremely difficult to accept that Diogo won’t be there when we go back.
“My thoughts are with his wife, his children, and of course his parents who suddenly lost their children. Those close to Diogo and his brother, Andre, need all the support they can get. They will never be forgotten.”
Before the sudden demise of Diogo Jota, all Liverpool players were expected to resume pre-season training today, July 4. However, his demise has forced the club to postpone it to next week in phases according to the BBC.
Remains of Jota and his brother are due for burial on Saturday, July 5, and the wake is scheduled for today at the Chapel of Resurrection in their hometown of Gondomar, Portugal.
