Former England midfielder Jack Wilshere, 32, has been unveiled as the new manager of Luton Town, stepping into senior management for the first time in his career.

Jack Wilshere’s appointment was confirmed on Monday, with football journalist Fabrizio Romano announcing, “Jack Wilshere becomes new Luton Town manager.”

The news marks a fresh chapter for both Wilshere and the Hatters, who are looking to rebuild after a shaky start to the season.

“It feels like a full-circle moment for me. I was eight when I first came to Luton as a boy, so I guess you could say it’s fate that my first full-time club managerial position is at this club,” Wilshere said, according to Romano’s post.

Luton Town, who have won admiration for their rapid rise through the English football pyramid in recent years, are now banking on Wilshere’s youthful energy and strong footballing background to steady the ship.

A product of Arsenal’s academy, Wilshere enjoyed a decorated career in the Premier League, representing Arsenal, Bournemouth, and West Ham, while also earning 34 caps for England.

Since retiring in 2022, he has worked in Arsenal’s youth setup, gaining praise for his hands-on approach and passion for developing young players.

Wilshere will take charge of his first game when Luton hosts Mansfield Town on Saturday.
