Grand Theft Auto VI Delayed Yet Again

We got a socialist mayor of New York City before Grand Theft Auto VI. The installment is being pushed back once again: The new release date is November 19, 2026, Take-Two Interactive said during its quarterly earnings report on November 6. That’s six months after the date it was previously pushed to and a full year after the planned 2025 release. Still, Take-Two is trying to stay optimistic. “We remain both excited and confident they will deliver an unrivaled blockbuster entertainment experience,” CEO Strauss Zelnick said, per The Hollywood Reporter. 

Rockstar Games apologized in a blog post for “adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait,” insisting “these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.” “While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City,” the company added. 

The world has been waiting for GTA 6 since the indie-sleaze era. To say anticipation is high would be a gross understatement; the most recent trailer for the game got almost half a billion views across platforms. Grand Theft Auto V was released in 2013, and at the time, people thought that was a long time to wait given that GTA 4 came out in 2008. GTA 5 was so long ago that fashion trends are cycling back. Look for GTA 6 on shelves during winter 2026, next to the infinity scarves.
