Man Arrested for Punching Maxwell Frost at Sundance

A man has been arrested for allegedly punching Florida representative Maxwell Frost at the Sundance Film Festival. According to Axios, Christian Joel Young was charged with multiple felony counts after reportedly assaulting Frost at a CAA party Friday. “Last night, I was assaulted by a man at Sundance Festival who told me that Trump was going to deport me before he punched me in the face,” Frost tweeted Saturday. “He was heard screaming racist remarks as he drunkenly ran off. The individual was arrested and I am okay.”

In an email to NBC News, a spokesperson for the Park City Police Department said Young unlawfully entered the party after previously being turned away for not having an invite. After getting inside, he allegedly assaulted Frost and a woman. He is being charged with two counts each of simple assault and aggravated burglary. The charges could all carry a sentencing enhancement.

A rep for Sundance said the festival strongly condemns the assault. “While the incident occurred at a non-Festival-affiliated event, such behavior is intolerable and against our values of upholding a welcoming and inspiring environment for all our attendees,” they said. “The safety and security of our festival goers remains our chief concern, and our thoughts are with Congressman Frost and his continued well-being.”
