Actually, James Acaster Revealed His Celebrity Traitors Identity Twice

by · VULTURE

Spoilers ahead for the Celebrity Traitors finale.

In the penultimate episode of Celebrity Traitors, James Acaster did the unthinkable: he revealed his identity as a traitor at the roundtable. Okay, maybe not that unthinkable, considering that Richard E. Grant also admitted he was a traitor very early on in the game. Nonetheless, it left the final players speechless and with no choice but to vote Acaster out. If only he had broken under pressure earlier… It turns out he did. On last season’s winner Alan Carr’s podcast, he revealed that he had hinted at his identity to another player. “Jerry Hall went right up to me, face to face, this close, accused me of being a traitor,” he explained. “She said, ‘I think it’s James.’ And I looked her in the eye and said, ‘I think it might be me as well, Jerry.’” Girl, lock in! This was perfect evidence to bring to the round table. Hall was buddy-buddy with most of the comedians in the cast, and who wouldn’t be? They were the best people to break any stressful tension in the castle. So maybe she thought Acaster was just being Acaster. Or she was still thinking about Grant being a traitor. It was shocking to her!
