Jared Leto Accused of Sexual Misconduct by 9 More Women

by · VULTURE

In June 2025, after approximately 20 years of unconfirmed rumors about Jared Leto’s inappropriate conduct with women, Air Mail published a report detailing nine women’s accounts of alleged sexual misconduct by the actor and musician. At the time, Leto denied the reports through his representatives, and two major studio films he starred in, Tron: Ares and Masters of the Universe, went ahead with planned theatrical releases.

On July 29, BBC released another film involving Leto, a documentary titled Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret, in which ten women, nine of whom are speaking out publicly for the first time, share stories accusing Leto of sexually inappropriate behavior. Four of these alleged incidents, occurring between 2002 and 2016, meet the criteria for criminal sexual misconduct. One woman claims the Oscar-winning actor assaulted her in a motel bathroom when she was 17. Another woman says they had sex when she was 17 — considered statutory rape in California, where the incident allegedly occurred. BBC says it has corroborated many of the allegations by speaking to people who were informed of these incidents when they happened and reviewing credible messages and pictures.

Following the release of the documentary, Leto put out a statement through his publicist denying the allegations: “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life,” he said. “These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”
