A$AP Rocky Says We ‘All Know’ Who His Diss Track Is About
by Alejandra Gularte · VULTURESo you thought Drake would catch a break? LOL. A$AP Rocky is using his beef with Drake as fodder for his latest album, DON’T BE DUMB, on the track “STOLE YA FLOW.” And Rocky isn’t shy about the shade. He hints that the song is about Drake, telling the New York Times music podcast Popcast, “I think we all know” who the song is about, while detailing his frustration with people who copy his style and feel jealous of what he has, especially his relationship with Rihanna. “I just started seeing people who started out as friends and then became foes,” he explained. “It seemed like they were unhappy for you and, you know, started sending shots. And I think that is what led to any of our misunderstandings or whatever the case is.” Rocky then says the feud doesn’t “even need to be” resolvable. He tries to backtrack the confirmation by claiming “it’s whoever feel like it’s about them,” but most of the clues lead to Drake.
In the chorus of “STOLE MY FLOW,” Rocky raps, “First you stole my flow, so I stole yo’ bitch / I can’t trust a soul, just my pole and my kids,” referencing Drake’s former relationship with Rihanna. In the song’s first verse, Rocky teases the “Family Matters” rapper about his BBL allegations (“Niggas gettin’ BBLs, lucky we don’t body-shame”) and how Drake would allegedly rap about Rocky and copy his musical style (“Throwin’ dirt on Rocky name, turn around and copy game”). Will this become Kendrick-Drake 2.0? At least Drake doesn’t have to worry that Rocky is playing the Super Bowl … yet.
