Vile couple had sex with pet dog in 'worst case judge has ever seen'

A man has been jailed for five-and-a-half years for forcing his partner to engage in sexual acts with their pet pug and then recording the twisted act, a court has heard. Graham Marshall, 39, "coerced" Paige Reaney, 33, into performing a variety of sexual activities with their pet, Charlie, which, according to Judge Jeremy Richardson KC, caused the animal pain and suffering.

The judge declared that Marshall "wallowed in a swamp of sexual depravity" and recognised a "level of coercion” in forcing Reaney to commit the repugnant acts. Addressing Sheffield Crown Court on Monday, Judge Richardson expressed his shock: "The circumstances of this case are extremely disturbing."

He remarked, "In a professional life in the law covering 45 years, I thought I had encountered most acts of depravity. This case is perhaps the worse example of a case of its kind that I have ever come across."

Reaney, 33, received a nine-month jail term suspended over two years after the judge acknowledged it was Marshall’s "perverted" sexual fantasies that drove the mistreatment of the dog at their Sheffield residence.

However, he pointed out to Reaney: "You never refused any of those requests," reports the Mirror.

The judge also detailed how the couple exchanged the images through TikTok, with Marshall commenting "so, so, f****** hot, it's amazing" while Reaney responded, "Wish I could have you right now."

The court learned that Marshall addressed Reaney as "mummy" in communications involving the dog.

A vet determined that Charlie would have been in distress and pain during the horrific acts, as detailed in court. Reaney pleaded guilty to bestiality and animal cruelty at a previous hearing, while Marshall admitted to the same charges, along with possession of child abuse images, extreme pornography and voyeurism.

The judge deemed Marshall a dangerous offender and imposed an extended sentence, including a four-year extended licence period upon his release. He told him: "You have wallowed in the swamp of sexual depravity repeatedly, and over a long period."

During the hearing, Reaney and Marshall sat at opposite ends of the dock. She wept throughout, while he sat with his head in his hands, visibly shaking at times.

The judge explained how the offences came to light in August 2021 when police seized devices from the couple's home following information about the possession of illegal child images. .

The judge stated: "The simple fact is that you, Reaney , had many sexual encounters with that poor helpless creature which were all aided and abetted by you, Marshall. These shocking acts of bestiality were video recorded."

Addressing Reaney, the judge said: "You were under a level of coercion to indulge in acts of bestiality. That conduct also included cruelty to an animal. Whilst I accept there was an element of coercion, you went along with what was happening on a number of occasions and you played your role to the full."

Judge Richardson stated: "The dog has suffered due to the abuse of it by two human beings to a state of learned helplessness. It has thus suffered unnecessarily. Pain was also inflicted on the dog deliberately during these bestial acts."

The judge detailed how Marshall possessed abuse images of children as young as seven and admitted to taking an indecent image of a child. He also mentioned that the voyeurism charge involved Marshall installing a camera in a bathroom to record unidentified women.

Judge Richardson acknowledged that Marshall had been subjected to sexual abuse, including bestiality, as a child. He told Marshall that he accepted that he had "lost everything" and had been the target of vigilante abuse on social media.

The judge said to him: "You cannot show your face anywhere and you have been living in a tent in the woods. You have been ostracised by your family."

He noted that a pre-sentence report highlighted Marshall's obsession with sexual fantasies. Judge Richardson told Marshall: "You have indulged in a vast array of different acts of sexual deviancy of a very serious kind."

He added: "You have deeply ingrained harmful sexual perversions within your character which embrace serious criminal conduct. I have every reason to believe there are acute risks of history repeating itself and you plunging yourself into the mire of criminal sexual depravity again."
