Ireland striker Adam Idah’s humble reaction to two-goal display for Celtic against Hearts
by Mark McCadden · Irish MirrorAdam Idah has refused to take credit for Celtic’s comfortable win away to Hearts - despite his quick-fire cameo appearance at Tynecastle on Saturday.
Idah came off the bench in the 75th minute, with Celtic two goals ahead, and needed just three minutes to find the net.
Musa Drammeh pulled one back for the hosts in the 82nd minute, but Idah ended all hopes of a comeback when he struck his second from the penalty spot in injury-time.

He was targeted by some Hearts fans, who appeared to throw objects at the Ireland striker as he celebrated his first, and Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers reacted by saying: “I didn't see that, but it's never good.”
But afterwards, Idah was just focused on the result and the impact of his sixth and seventh goals of the season in all competitions.
Asked on Sky Sports for his reaction to a match-winning cameo, Idah replied: “I don’t think I won us the game, but I’m really happy.
“I’ve said this week that I want to set myself some goals and obviously the main one was to score more goals.
“Look, I’m happy with how I played (against Hearts) and overall the team, we got the three points.”
His Tynecastle strikes were his third and fourth Scottish Premiership goals in nine league appearances this season, with just three of those coming as a starter.
Did he feel the pressure to deliver, coming off the bench after the international break?
“I don’t think so. Look, everyone here knows that we’ve got so many games,” he replied.
“Whether you are starting or coming off the bench, everyone is there to make an impact, so that’s the mindset we’ve got and everyone is doing their best.”
He added that there would be many more opportunities for himself and others to impress with Celtic coming into a busy spell both in Scotland and abroad.
“Yeah, 100 percent. Especially with us in the Champions League, everyone knows how important these games are and everyone wants to do well and play their part,” he said.
“I think for now we are doing well. We’ve just got to keep going.”
